February 17, 2017, Friday. All club members, guests, and anyone wanting to learn about what Kiwanis accomplishes are invited. We meet at the Good Samaritan Village at 3011 Buena Vida Circle, a bit east of Telshor Blvd. near the hospital. Entrance is through the double doors marked Social Center; we meet in the Oasis Room on the right-hand side a bit down the hall going south. Breakfast begins at 7 AM and runs to 8 AM, so there’s time to get to work afterward. If you’d like to buy your breakfast there the cost is $7. Camaraderie is free.
February 9, 2017, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. This brings us close to several events needing planning – SW District Education Conference, Mayor’s Top Teens breakfast, Good Sam Fish Fry, and Raft the Rio, the last event needing much advance planning and publicity. We’ll announce the restaurant location soon.
February 4, 2017 – 8-11 AM. Loma Heights Elementary School breakfast, with a Valentine’s Day theme. It’s a fundraiser for the school. We provide the food at cost and cook it. School kids and parents sell tickets. The school keeps the profit. This event also is the culmination of the baby blanket drive that started in October.
UPDATE: We raised $1,200 for the school!
We will be serving pancakes, juice, sausage, and coffee. You can eat in or carry out.
To attend: Tickets are $5 in advance from school representatives. They can also be bought at the door.
To serve: Join in! Help mix batter, cook, serve, clean up; it’s good camaraderie and for a good cause. Contact us at (575) 525-9478
Oct, 2016 through Feb 4, 2017. Baby blanket drive for Pediatric patients
We had 55 blankets! Here they are, piled on a long table. Thanks to our many donors!
